On Jan 9, a bicycle tour to ASEAN countries began at Jinbi Square in the downtown of Kunming. It’s learned that the journey will cover as long as 7,100 km and will take more than 2 months by bike.
The team consists of 6 members led by Jin Feibao and Fei Xuan, two reputed explorers from Kunming. They will travel across the Indo-China Peninsula and 7 ASAEN countries as “friendship messengers” of Kunming.
On the inauguration ceremony, Zhang Zulin, mayor of Kunming, attended to encourage the “messengers”. He delivered the Friendship Letter to Jin Feibao, the group leader, and said that Kunming, as an international portal and a bridge-head city in Southwest China, is looking to consolidate the friendship with Southeast Asian cities, promote the mutual understanding, and deepen and widen cooperation between each other.
